Manalapan Township is famously known for the “Battle of Monmouth” which was fought during the Revolutionary war led by General George Washington and is appraised as the decisive victory that ultimately brought the war to a closing. Monmouth Battleground State Park located within the Township hosts an annual reenactment of the Battle of Monmouth. Manalapan has a number of historic landmarks as well as parks and a recreation center.

The Township is widely considered a very desirable place to live by most standards. Manalapan residents enjoy a vast array of shopping centers, strip malls and plaza’s and that’s not to mention the beautiful Freehold Raceway Mall that is just minutes away. In addition there is quite a selection of fine quality dining in the area as well as many national restaurant chains to choose from. The school district is also notable to mention, given the considerably high state wide rankings.

Manalapan is centrally located between two of New Jerseys major highway systems; the Garden State Parkway and the New Jersey Turnpike. Route 9 which runs directly thru Manalapan is also a predominate means of transportation spanning the entire state from north to south. Many home owners that commute to the city each day catch the express buses that run up and down Route 9 giving convenient access into Manhattan.
